Calculator computes your projected payment history over the term of your
student loan, the total interest paid on your loan, the monthly amounts
repaid to principle and the amount or remaining payments you have left to make.
When making your
calculations remember that the Federal Stafford Loan has a fixed
interest rate of 6.8% and the Federal PLUS loan has a fixed rate of
8.5%. Perkins loans have a fixed interest rate of 5%.
If your loan has a variable interest rate you will have to calculate
your payments by the year as our student loan calculator assumes that
the interest rate will remain constant throughout the life of your
student loan.
As with most loan repayment calculators, our calculator also assumes
that the loan will be repaid in 12 equal monthly installments through
